Who we are

WE HAVE GONE A LONG WAY
... since 1951 when Nino Bosio, in the immediate post-war period, in a period of hard working and great enthusiasm for the reconstruction, founded in Forno Canavese what is today one of the leading companies in the sector.
For years active in the Santena plant and recently also in the new Moncalieri plant, with the company spirit unchanged and therefore aimed at a continuous improving quality improvement, Bosio company produces leaf spring fixing brackets, matching the most innovative technologies and controls with the ancient pioneering spirit of the Founder.
... AND WE HAVE NOT GIVEN UP ON THE HARDEST CONDITIONS.
The 50-year experience has therefore perfectly grafted onto new technologies with the ideation and continuous study of new production cycles and processes.
For example, the design and construction of special equipment and machinery for the production of ever lighter, stronger, reliable over time and therefore economically convenient brackets.

Bosio has decided to upgrade its organization and production standard through the use of World Class Manufacturig (WCM) looking at a continuous improvement.
The system is based on the systematic attack at any kind of loss and waste,through the general commitment of the whole personnel , with the severe use of methods and standards.
We want to built up a manufacturing where:

Forging and extrusion process of U-bolts ends

Preparation of the medium dia. of the rolled thread by extrusion

The preparation of the medium dia. by extrusion avoids the interruption of the continuity of the material’s fiber structure,that wold occur with the usual turning and grinding. The fiber continuity,namely at threads’end,allows a better stress distribution, with a consequent increase of fatigue resistance.

Heat treatment line in controlled atmosphere

Thread rolling after hardening and tempering

The thread rolling after heat treat. gives a further increase of fatigue resistance and allows to accept heavier loads in critical conditions

Bending and compressed winding

The bending with compressed winding allows the obtaining of iincreased resistent cross-sections in the bended areas even with small radius ; this fact improves significantly the torsion and shear resistance. This condition is not present in the conventional bending processa as the less is the bending radius, the greater is the cross section reduction in the bended area caused by the strecht of the material .Furthermore,the presence of very small radius permits the use of plates bearings of the U-bolt of reduced thickness and therefore lighter.

Products

U-bolts for leaf-springs fastening

The majority of U-bolts for leaf-springs fastening are considered “safety parts”as components linked to safety of people and means on which they are fitted.
The production cycle to which the U-bolts for leaf-springs are submitted contributes to upgrade the fatigue resistance and therefore their life-time, allowing to the means on which they are adopted the resistance to unforeseen stresses in normal working conditions.

Types of controls:

  • Raw material utilization with Circograf and Defectomat controls
  • Dimensional cheks during the whole pouction process
  • Control of anti-mixing of different steels(Magnatest)
  • Temperature control 100% with optical pirometer on crop ends during heating/stamping/bending.
  • Magnaflux control (magnetoscope) for possible surface defects.
  • Dimensional control of distance between centers on finished product (100%).
